A migration is easier to run when the groundwork is done first: knowing what you run today, what it costs, and where the risks sit. Surprises during a move are usually things that were never mapped.
Sequencing matters. Moving in stages keeps operations running and gives you the chance to learn before the harder systems go across.
Continuity planning belongs at the start, not the end. Deciding in advance what happens when something fails is cheaper than deciding during an outage.
