
A decision to adopt a technology is a starting point, not an outcome. Configuration, integration, data and the people who have to change how they work all sit between the decision and a system that earns its place.
Underestimating that distance is why projects stall after the announcement. The tool is bought, but the working system never quite arrives.
Closing the gap is mostly unglamorous work: setting things up properly, integrating with what already exists, and staying on after go-live to fix what needs fixing.
